VFW Auxiliary will hold POW/MIA Recognition Day in downtown DeRidder

Cole-Miers VFW Post 3619 and the Auxiliary and Riders Group will be holding a 24-hour vigil beginning at 5 pm Fri Sept 17 in Downtown DeRidder.

The 24 vigil is to recognize the 24 POW/MIA Service Members that were lost during Vietnam.

The VFW Post 3619 and Auxiliary will hold a POW/MIA Recognition Day 24-hour vigil

The vigil will take place at the POW/MIA Monument on the corner of Washington Street and Ronald Reagan Hwy (HWY171/190).

At the top of every hour, VFW Post 3619 and the Auxiliary and Riders Group will ring the bell and place a dog-tag for the fallen while their Bio is read.

Motorcycles interested in participating in the Short Law enforcement escorted flag parade please meet at the Post(1115 HWY27) at 4:30 PM.

If you have a passenger to carry a flag the VFW would appreciate it.

Membership Applications for the Post & Auxiliary will be available for those interested in being part of the oldest and largest Veterans Service Organization.

Those who wish to apply please bring proof of eligibility(Paperwork Showing Campaign or Expeditionary Medal or Service in Korea for 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days, or received Hostile fire or imminent danger pay for you or your loved one.
