The Vernon Parish School Board Superintendent James Williams released a statement  on March 25 that Vernon Parish schools will follow the school calendar and plan to have the scheduled Easter Break the week of April 13-17.

Schools are scheduled to be allowed to reopen on Monday, April 13, but honoring the Easter break school students would not return to school until April 20.

The Superintendent’s statement also addressed the break as a time to sanitize and to perform routine maintenance on school buses.

Schools are to remain closed, but custodial staff will continue to clean and sanitize the school one day a week.

The full statement from the Superintendent can be found at vpsb.us.

The next VPSB meeting was set for April 2 but it has been postponed until further notice.
