Lady Cats knock off Oak Hill, Bolton

LEESVILLE - Leesville catcher Mackenzie Waldrop doubled and scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Lady Cats knocked off the Oak Hill Lady Rams on Tuesday in non-district play, 4-3.

Oak Hill took the initial lead by scoring a run in the first. The Lady Ram advantage grew to 2-0 in the third before Leesville responded with three in the bottom of the third to take the lead.

However, Oak Hill tied the game with a run in the fourth, setting the stage for Leesville to go ahead in the fifth.

Waldrop doubled to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a groundout. Waldrop scored later on a groundout by Amaya Thomas to give Leesville the lead, 4-3.

The combination of Waldrop and Thomas provided one of the runs in the third when Waldrop singled and scored when Thomas doubled. Thomas also scored in the third as did Karis Kiker.

Waldrop finished the game by going 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, while Thomas had a double, a run scored and two RBIs.

Kiker was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Layla Gamble had a pair of hits, including a double and a run scored.

On Wednesday, the Lady Cats blanked Bolton in district play, 17-0.

Waldrop homered in the game, collecting three hits and three RBIs, while Neilya Williams finished with three hits, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Madison Joiner also had a double and two RBIs.

PLEASANT HILL - Three Lady Hornet pitchers combined on a no-hitter, while Hannah Dahlhoff connected on a home run as the Hornbeck Lady Hornets beat the Pleasant Hill Lady Eagles on Tuesday in district play, 24-2.

Dahlhoff had three hits, two runs scored and five RBIs in the win, while Morgan Smith, Madison Behan and Hannah Mitchell each finished with three hits.

Abby Nicholas and Daylyn Shelly each finished with two hits, while Makayla Cole drove in three runs.

Smith, Nicholas, Behan, Mitchell, Haylee Addison and Kayleigh Park each finished with two RBIs for Hornbeck.

PICKERING - ShaeLa Lawrence struck out 14 batters and allowed just three hits, but it wasn't enough as the Pickering Lady Red Devils fell in district action on Tuesday to the Vinton Lady Lions, 3-1.

Lawrence had one hit and an RBI in the loss.
