Knights trounce Cardinals, EBHS falls

LONGVILLE - Jace Duhon worked four solid innings as the South Beauregard Golden Knights rolled past the Lacassine Cardinals on Monday in non-district play, 16-6. 

Duhon gave up five runs on four hits with five strikeouts before giving way to Zach Blackwell in the fifth. 

The Golden Knights fell behind by two runs early, but scored five runs in the first and two in the second to open up a 7-2 lead. 

Lacassine battled back with three in the third, but a six-run explosion in the bottom of the third secured things for the Knights as they cruised to the win. 

Bryce Jensen had two hits, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead South Beauregard, while Charles Keith and Britton Coleman each collected two hits and two RBIs. 

Rett Bowman, Emery Laird, Austin Felice each finished with two hits and an RBI for the Golden Knights. Felice's two hits were both doubles.

East Beauregard...2 

DRY CREEK - The Montgomery Tigers found their rhythm late, scoring all of their runs over the final three innings of play as they scored a 9-2 victory over the East Beauregard Trojans on Monday in non-district action. 

After four innings, EBHS owned a 1-0 lead and seemed to be in control. 

But Montgomery got to starter Hayden Farmer for five runs in the fifth to take the lead en route to the victory. 

Farmer have up five runs on six hits with eight strikeouts in five innings of work. 

Jacob Odom had a hit and an RBI for East Beauregard, while Kobie Bailey and Freddy e each had a hit and run scored. Caleb Johnson added a triple for the Trojans.
