ROSEPINE - Sometimes, one team just seems to have another's number.

The DeQuincy Tigers scored a pair of runs in the seventh to knock off the Rosepine Eagles in District 5-2A play on Monday night, 6-4.

With the win, the Tigers swept the season series against Rosepine, having beaten the Eagles a few weeks back, 13-6.

Rosepine held the early advantage by scoring twice in the first inning. However, by the end of the fourth inning, DeQuincy had rallied to take a 4-3 lead.

The Eagles pushed a run across in the bottom of the fifth to tie things up at 4-4. It would remain that way in the sixth as neither team scored.

However, the Tigers notched a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead and shut the door on any comeback in the bottom of the frame to secure the win.

Hadley Cooley pitched the final two innings for the win, giving up no runs on no hits. Gunner Gearen pitched the first five in the no decision.

Cooley had a hit and an RBI, while Jacob Goodfriend added two hits and two runs scored for the Tigers.

Braden Trull suffered the loss, giving up three runs on four hits in three innings. Casey Tilley worked the first four innings.

Jake Smith had a hit and two runs scored for the Eagles, while Logan Calcote had a hit and run scored.
