PICKERING - The Pickering Red Devils had no answer for Vinton's balanced offensive attack.

The Lions jumped out to a 41-0 lead at the intermission and never looked back in toppling the Red Devils, 54-8, at O'Banion Stadium on Thursday night.

Pickering (0-6, 0-1) couldn't seem to find its rhythm on either side of the line of scrimmage as the Lions took a 28-0 lead after one quarter. Vinton added two more TDs in the second quarter to go into the break with a commanding 41-0 advantage.

The Lions added two more scores in the second half, while Pickering prevented the shutout thanks to a touchdown run from Savion Adams.

Vinton quarterback Lukas Bunting completed 6-of-9 passes for 146 yards as the Lions accounted for 329 total yards, 166 through the air and 163 on the ground.

Pickering got 102 yards rushing and 38 yards passing from Marlon Freeney, while Adams had 44 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.
