Rivals' previous No. 1 recruit was five-star edge rusher Lebbeus Overton (6-4, 265) from Georgia. The No. 2 player is five-star California quarterback Malachi Nelson (6-3, 175), who is committed to Oklahoma.
Manning is also the No. 1 recruit in Louisiana and quarterback in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite's rankings. The site has Manning as the No. 2 player in the nation behind Overton.
